We are wholly dedicated to caring and supporting people in their own homes
Our Carers
Our care and support practitioners’ primary aim is to ensure that you continue getting the care and support you need so that you can maintain your independence and live well at home. At HHC, every single one of our compassionate practitioners has received our industry-leading training, which means they can provide person centred care and support, designed around your flexibility and choice.
About Us
Since 1994, Highland home Carers (HHC) have been caring for and supporting people, families, loved ones, and communities across the Highlands.
We are an Employee Owned Company, and a Scottish Social Enterprise. We are not for profit, and are firmly rooted in the Highlands.
We are wholly dedicated to caring for and supporting people in their own homes - vital for promoting independence, comfort, and enhanced quality of life by allowing individuals to remain in their familiar surroundings, rather than being in a hospital or moving to residential/nursing care.
We are immensely proud of the work that we do, the lives that we have impacted so positively, and the enormous contribution that we have made to Highland communities and to the Highland economy.
Since becoming Employee Owned in 2004, HHC has:
£100 million
contributed more than £100 million in wages to the Highland economy
6 million hours
delivered more than 6 million hours of personalised care and support
2, 000
employed well over 2,000 people
12 million
provided around 12 million individual episodes of care, provided to people in their own homes.
We are a critical component of the Highland's health, social care, and economic infrastructure. Our work underpins hospital flow, prevention, independent living, workforce participation, Fair Work, and Community Wealth Building.

Our Mission
As an Employee Owned organisation, we each and all have a personal commitment, and are driven, to provide flexible, high quality Care and Support, promoting people’s independence.
As an Employee Owned Social Enterprise, we are not motivated by profit : We have a vested interest in the success of our company, and we pride ourselves in being engaged, motivated, valued, and having a strong influence in how the company develops.
We have high levels of colleague engagement, fair employment practices (Fair Work), lower staff turnover, and opportunities to participate in the running of our organisation. This helps lead to better outcomes for us and for the people who we care for and support.
We are a Scottish Social Enterprise : We strive to build a better working life for the social care workforce, and to create positive social change.
Fair Work is critical to us : Work that offers all individuals an effective voice, opportunity, security, fulfilment and respect. This generates benefits for individuals, our organisation, and society.

Locations

Our headquarters, and home to the Adult Social Care Academy, is located in Inverness : 1 Highlander Way, Inverness IV2 7GE. This is more than an office and training centre : This is our principal home base, and we are proud to have made this investment for our workforce, for the wider Adult Social Care Sector, and for the future generations of the Care and Support workforce across the Highlands.
Our office base in Invergordon is located at Morrich House, 20 Davidson Drive, Invergordon IV18 0SA. This modern office is the home base for our team of colleagues who support, plan, manage, and deliver care and support across the Mid-Highland areas of Ross-shire.
We deliver care and support across a wide range of areas, reflecting the geography and demography of the Highlands.
We are agile and flexible : We will always consider how best we might be able to care for and support people, regardless of where they live.
Funding
The majority of our work is delivered free to people at the point of service delivery : Since 2002 in Scotland, free personal and nursing care is available to all adults in Scotland assessed by their local council or NHS as needing it, regardless of age, income, or savings.
People and their families / loved ones often wish to directly purchase additional hours of care and support, to supplement the (free) assessed needs by the council or NHS, or to enter in to privately funded arrangements for care and support at home.
At HHC, we are pleased to work with individuals, families, and loved ones, and to tailor care and support packages that offer additionality, flexibility, and choice.
Our privately funded care and support is competitively priced at £35 per hour. Our Terms of Business, and further details, for privately purchased care and support, are available by contacting HHC by email (enquiries@HHC.Scot) or by telephone : 01463-241196.
